Rooted: Prayer Guide - Day 11

Refuge: A Season of Prayer

Rooted

Sinking Deep Roots in the Life of God

A tree is only as strong as its roots are deep. The steady, fruitful life we long for doesn’t come from trying harder on the surface — it grows underground, in the hidden work of staying close to God. These 21 days are an invitation to sink down deep, and to stay.

— Begin on any day. Grow every day. —

Each day carries one verse and concept, prayers for morning, afternoon, and evening, and a For Families section — a simple way to grow the theme at home with your children.

How to Use This Guide

The Verse & Concept

Read the verse slowly, then the concept beneath it. Read it again, slowly. Let it name the day’s theme before you pray, and carry one line of it with you.

Morning Prayer

Pray it as the day begins — to root yourself in God before the day’s demands compete for your attention.

Afternoon Prayer

A midday return to what matters. Wherever the day has taken you, this is a moment to reconnect your roots to God.

Evening Prayer

Pray it as the day closes — to rest, to let the day’s growth settle, and to sink your roots a little deeper overnight.

Reflect

One honest question. Sit with it, journal it, or talk it through.

For Families

A simple concept and prayer to grow the theme at home with your children — through conversation, a small activity, and praying together.

Day 11: Drawing From the Source

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

- John 15:5

Concept

A branch produces nothing on its own — everything flows from the vine. The rooted life isn’t about trying harder; it’s about staying connected to God and letting His life flow through you.

Morning Prayer

Jesus, help me to remain in You, keep me from things that pull my attention, desire and focus from You today. Amen.

Afternoon Prayer

Lord, when I feel like I’m running on empty this afternoon, remind me the life isn’t mine to generate. Help me stay connected to You. Flow through me. Amen.

Evening Prayer

Father, apart from You I can do nothing — and today proved it. Thank You for the life that flowed from You in me. Keep me connected as I rest. Amen.

Reflect: Where have you been trying to bear fruit on your own, disconnected from God?

For Families

Concept

Hold up a cut flower or a branch broken off a plant. Ask: “How long will this stay alive now that it’s not connected?” Explain that we’re like branches — we only stay alive and grow good things by staying connected to Jesus, the vine. Ask: “What are some ways we stay connected to Him every day?”

Family Prayer

Jesus, You are the vine and we are the branches. Keep our family connected to You. We can’t do anything good without You — so flow Your life through us. Amen.
