How to Use This Guide
The Verse & Concept
Read the verse slowly, then the concept beneath it. Read it again, slowly. Let it name the day’s theme before you pray, and carry one line of it with you.
Morning Prayer
Pray it as the day begins — to root yourself in God before the day’s demands compete for your attention.
Afternoon Prayer
A midday return to what matters. Wherever the day has taken you, this is a moment to reconnect your roots to God.
Evening Prayer
Pray it as the day closes — to rest, to let the day’s growth settle, and to sink your roots a little deeper overnight.
Reflect
One honest question. Sit with it, journal it, or talk it through.
For Families
A simple concept and prayer to grow the theme at home with your children — through conversation, a small activity, and praying together.
Day 20: A Planting of the Lord
“They will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.”
- Isaiah 61:3
Concept
You are not a wild seed that landed by chance — you are a planting of the Lord, put here on purpose, rooted in Him. After twenty days of sinking roots, something has grown. You’re becoming an oak: strong, deliberate, meant to display His splendor.
Morning Prayer
Father, this morning I remember I’m not here by accident — I’m Your planting, on purpose. Let my life today display a little of Your splendor. Amen.
Afternoon Prayer
Lord, whatever this afternoon holds, root me in the truth that You planted me here for a reason. Make me an oak — steady, strong, and Yours. Amen.
Evening Prayer
God, twenty days in, I can see growth. As I rest, root this deeper: I am Yours, planted by Your hand, becoming what You intended. Amen.
Reflect: How have you grown over these twenty days — and what do you want to carry forward?
For Families
Concept
Ask your family: “Have you noticed anything different about us — or about you — this month?” Let everyone answer, even the kids. Explain that God has been growing our family on purpose, like a gardener who plants oak trees meant to last. Celebrate the growth you’ve seen in each other. Name it out loud.
Family Prayer
Father, thank You for growing our family on purpose these past weeks. Make us like strong oak trees — rooted in You, showing others how good You are. Amen.
