Rooted: Prayer Guide - Day 19

Refuge: A Season of Prayer

Rooted

Sinking Deep Roots in the Life of God

A tree is only as strong as its roots are deep. The steady, fruitful life we long for doesn’t come from trying harder on the surface — it grows underground, in the hidden work of staying close to God. These 21 days are an invitation to sink down deep, and to stay.

— Begin on any day. Grow every day. —

Each day carries one verse and concept, prayers for morning, afternoon, and evening, and a For Families section — a simple way to grow the theme at home with your children.

How to Use This Guide

The Verse & Concept

Read the verse slowly, then the concept beneath it. Read it again, slowly. Let it name the day’s theme before you pray, and carry one line of it with you.

Morning Prayer

Pray it as the day begins — to root yourself in God before the day’s demands compete for your attention.

Afternoon Prayer

A midday return to what matters. Wherever the day has taken you, this is a moment to reconnect your roots to God.

Evening Prayer

Pray it as the day closes — to rest, to let the day’s growth settle, and to sink your roots a little deeper overnight.

Reflect

One honest question. Sit with it, journal it, or talk it through.

For Families

A simple concept and prayer to grow the theme at home with your children — through conversation, a small activity, and praying together.

Day 19: Flourish, Don't Just Survive

“The righteous flourish like the palm tree... They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green.”

- Psalm 92:12,14

Concept

God’s design isn’t mere survival — it’s flourishing. A rooted life doesn’t just endure; it stays fresh and green and fruitful, even late in the season. He intends for you to thrive, not just hang on.

Morning Prayer

Father, this morning I ask for more than survival. Let me flourish today — fresh, green, and fruitful — because I’m rooted in You. Amen.

Afternoon Prayer

Lord, if I’ve slipped into just getting through this afternoon, lift my eyes. You planted me to thrive, not merely to endure. Renew me now. Amen.

Evening Prayer

God, thank You that You keep the rooted fresh and green, season after season. As I rest, renew my life so I flourish, not just survive. Amen.

Reflect: Are you settling for survival or aiming for flourishing?

For Families

Concept

Show your kids a healthy, thriving plant next to a struggling one, or picture them. Talk about the difference between barely alive and really flourishing. Explain that God wants our family to flourish — full of life and joy — not just get by. Ask: “What helps us flourish? What drains us?” Choose one flourishing thing to do together.

Family Prayer

God, we don’t just want to get by — we want our family to flourish in You. Keep us fresh and green and full of life, in every season. Amen.
